| Let’s set up a short flight plan to our destination so you can see how the flight plan screen works. |

The first thing you should notice is the list of nearest airports at the bottom of this window. The list is sorted by distance and tells you how long the runway is and what to expect for surface. By moving the cursor to one of these airports and clicking the button, your previous flight plan is canceled and this becomes your direct-to airport. You should also notice the Flight Service field which will tell you the FSS frequencies that are appropriate to your current location. You can see multiple entries by moving to this field and turning the inner knob. The Virtual VOR settings can be selected on this screen too. Pick a VOR (or Airport or NDB) and a radial, and it will be displayed in the HSI section with a course deviation indicator just like the expensive units you've wished for. |

To add the first waypoint to your flight plan, rotate the Outer knob to move the cursor to the ADD button and press the inner button to “press” the on-screen button. A series of boxes will appear where you can enter the name or identifier of your first waypoint. Use the outer and inner knobs to select a letter and move to the next field. Once you’ve entered a name, click the Go button and a list of matches will appear. Simply select the one you want, and click the button again. One nice thing about the search function is you can enter a city name (such as Atlanta) and all the Atlanta area airports and waypoints will appear. You don’t need to know the identifier. When the flightplan is complete, simply press the FLT button again and it will dismiss the flightplan window. All EFIS/One windows can be dismissed by pressing the button a second time. |

First,
press the FLT button located on the right side of the display bezel.
The
Flight Plan window is where you enter your waypoints for your flight plan.
A
green course line from waypoint to waypoint is displayed on the moving map
for you to follow.
