The
Flight Plan window is where you enter your waypoints for your flight plan.
The first thing you should notice is the list of nearest airports at
the bottom of this window. The list is sorted by distance and tells
you how long the runway is and what to expect for surface. By moving
the cursor to one of these airports and clicking the button, your previous
flight plan is canceled and this becomes your direct-to airport.
You should also notice the Flight Service field which will tell you the
FSS frequencies that are appropriate to your current location. You
can see multiple entries by moving to this field and turning the inner
knob.
The Virtual VOR settings can be selected on this screen too. Pick a
VOR (or Airport or NDB) and a radial, and it will be displayed in the HSI
section with a course deviation indicator just like the expensive units you've
wished for.
