The System Box is where the magic happens.  It contains the main processor and sensors to determine what attitude your airplane is in.  There are no spinning gyros or any other moving parts in the system box.  Solid-state accelerometers determine how your airplane is moving in 3-D space, coupled with input from the magnetometer and GPS signals for verification and a final determination before the information is displayed on screen.

The Primary flight display is an LCD screen that is sunlight readable and dimmable for use in all lighting conditions.  This screen cannot be compared to a laptop computer screen.  It is much brighter, can be viewed in sunlight, at wide angles, and is much more expensive!  All of the EFIS/One controls are located on the right side of the screen bezel.  There is a brightness knob in the upper right corner.  Below that, there are 4 buttons to display the Autopilot, Checklists, Flight plan, and Settings screens.  A multi-function knob is located at the bottom right corner .  It has an outer and inner knob, plus a “push-to-click” inner knob.

The Magnetometer is a small box that senses magnetic heading and sends the information to the system box.

The GPS antenna feeds the built-in GPS receiver.

The DVD drive is used to load new software versions.  The drive is not used during flight because all data is stored in flash memory. (1MB flash required for v2.15)

The Engine Sensors (purchased separately) collect information for display on the engine information page.  EFIS/One can measure resistance, voltage, and differential voltage, and can read a pulse train from up to two tachometer and two fuel flow sensors.

The optional Autopilot controller box and Servos can be installed to add autopilot functionality to your EFIS/One system.

The autopilot servo can be fitted with either a bellcrank arm or cable capstan.
