My EFIS ONE Experience
In February of 2003 I began test flying my Glastar with my BMA EFIS 1. I was quickly very pleased that I have chosen to go with the glass panel. During the latter phase of construction, I had many visitors who wanted to see the panel. Some thought this was a mistake, but most could see the tremendous capabilities of this instrument. Of course, the proof would be when the test flying began. Being a first time builder, I had a few issues, but with the support of the BMA team these were resolved. Now several of the local skeptics are updating their panels to glass. I have 300 hours on my EFIS and I would not want to fly without one. Besides it is fun to show other pivots the EFIS as I stop at various airports around the country. They are always blown away and it is great to hear a King Air pilot say that you have better equipment on board then what he has. I have given the controls of my plane to many pilots and non-pilots and they are quick to adapt to the EFIS. They all feel that this makes flying safer and a lot easier. Passengers that do not fly are also feel comfortable once they see how the EFIS aids the navigation process. Greg constantly makes the product better and I have been spoiled by his willingness to complete any changes to the display. Now, we all want weather overlaid on the display. Wow, will this make the EFIS the ultimate aviation instrument. Dale McClure N286DM
